Terms and conditions of use

The term "compatible" is used on this site to describe an item that has been newly manufactured, usually by a third party, but to the specification of the original equipment manufacturer. It is also used to describe a remanufactured or refurbished item. This is an item that has been used once and then refurbished and refilled. Wherever possible we supply premium products where the drum has been replaced rather than simply "refurbished". Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee this in every case. The item names and descriptions are as accurate and fair as possible and we will not pass off a product as genuine when it we know it not to be. We can't, however be held responsible for mistakes in the information provided to us by suppliers. The terms "genuine" or "original" refer to products that are manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer and will always be new unless otherwise stated.

Please note - we now label all our compatible, refurbished and remanufactured products as "Compatible". This is due to the ever changing nature of the supply of them.

Occasionally we may have to substitute one suppliers' product for another if stock is not available for the product ordered. We purchase from multiple suppliers in order to ensure continuity of supply and a broad range of stock. The images are either a generic image or the actual item and may not accurately represent the actual product. Images for the compatible range may show the OEM name but this does not signify we are supplying an OEM product.

We aim to despatch all goods within 24 hours of receipt of order. Most orders will be despatched on the same day for orders received before 3pm. The goods can sometimes take up to 3 days to arrive although this is rare. When purchasing through this site you will be informed by email of receipt of order and payment and also despatch of goods.

Delivery - we use both First Class Post, TNT Postal Service and Couriers dependant upon the size, weight and location of the item(s). Toners are charged at £5.00 + vat whilst inks are £2.50 + vat. All orders are free of carriage charges when ordering any mix totalling £100 + vat or more. Items sent by Courier will typically arrive the next day but may take up to 3 days.

We accept all major credit and debit cards and PayPal but not Amex and Diners Club. Order and credit card details are protected by SSL version 3, 128bit encryption. You may also pay by BACS, cheque or over the phone - please ring us on 01423 226448. If you are an Educational establishment, you may qualify for a credit account.

Under the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR's), if you are a private customer (ie not business customers), and the goods have been in your possession for less than 11 days, then you are entitled to a full refund if you wish to change your mind. You must take reasonable care of the goods until they are returned to us ie you must not open shrink-wrapped or blister pack products or break any manufacturer's seals and all goods must be fully packaged as new. To return a product you must obtain a returns authorisation number, you can get this by sending an email to cs@thetonerplace.co.uk Please include the order number in the subject line and a description of why you want to return the item in the email. If you are a business customer, we will do our very best to sort out any issue to your satisfaction but we cannot be held liable for any costs/loss of profits etc over and above the cost of the purchased product. We may exchange or refund at our discretion.

The site is provided on an "as is" basis. Scanners GB Ltd makes no express or implied warranties of any kind relating to the provision of information or service on or by this site. Scanners GB Ltd will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use or misuse of this site, use or misuse of the products, or any of the information contained within the site. We reserve the right to make changes to this site, disclaimers, and terms and conditions at any time.

The goods remain the property of Scanners GB Ltd until paid for with cleared funds.

Coverage:

The figures quoted are always an average, even for the genuine versions of the products. They are based on 5% coverage of an A4 page. Please be aware that 5% is very little coverage and when printing in black or colour, especially with graphics, the average yield can be significantly less than that quoted.

Pricing:

If a mistake has been made with a price, or any other error, we reserve the right to refuse to supply the product at the price displayed. We would offer a refund if required.

Availability:

We display products in good faith based on suppliers daily or weekly feeds. Sometimes, however, we may display an item that is not available and as we cannot guarantee the availability of any product, we cannot be held responsible for errors. We therefore may have to refuse an order, even when paid in full.
